Worked through different models and value chains to provide thought leadership and advice to the Schott Management Board on corporate value based management and strategic annual investments of 225 million euros on a portfolio of companies with total annual turnover of 1.4 billion euros. The two main areas of investment were in solar cell manufacturing & distribution and health diagnostics. This included analysis of business plan models enunciated across a range of industrial sectors from solar modules, flat screen technology factory build, to biochips and diagnostic services. A plethora of project finance models for new factory build where investigated and put to the board. | |

Led consultancy projects for a 3 billion euro division of Siemens that was experiencing losses of 400 million euros in conjunction with Siemens Management Consulting GmbH , leading teams of up to 20 (including 5 external consultants) on benchmarking and on NAFTA (North Atlantic Free Trade Agreement) market development appraisal and associated re-structuring. Evaluated and proposed efficient consolidation of the businesses' manufacturing footprint in the NAFTA region. The benchmarking project included identifying competitor critical success factors in the areas of organisation, key financial data, tendering & project management, market orientation & customer satisfaction, processes, reverse engineering and purchasing. | |

Using these tools in my own projects, I achieved a halving of project delivery times, substantial project cost reductions and transparency of responsibilities during warranty resulting in substantial profit improvement. It was adopted across the organization. It included project information systems, tender-controlling, budget calculation methods & tools, project transfer documentation, project organization, project-start, planning and controlling, change, quality, risk & claim management. Monthly measurable project reporting instruments were introduced. Project duration: 1.5 years from conception through implementation and monitoring. | |
